A deep black cherry color that is followed by exotic aromatics of ripe black fruits, raspberry, strawberry with a touch of wild Herbs de Provence and black olive. The palate is very full and layered and extremely decadent. Black and red fruits are intermingled with a mineral, savory, and sultry mouthfeel that makes this wine just fun to drink!
The blend: 37% Syrah, 34% Petite Sirah, and 29% Zinfandel. 378 cases produced. In the Cohn Zone: drink now - 2029.

My ode to Côte du Rhône. The goal is to produce wine that comes across like a fantastic Côtes du Rhône. I want complexity and intensity like all my other wines, but be more approachable.
As a lover of all things Rhône, I decided to make a Southern Côte du Rhône-style wine, but to include Zinfandel in the blend. I wanted it to be a great introduction to my Rhône-centric winemaking style. I also wanted it to be delicious and yes, MAGICAL!
The name Smoke & Mirrors comes from my love of anything that is magic - Cirque du Soleil, The Harlem Globetrotters, etc.
I started Jeff Cohn Cellars with the help of my mother, Iris. One adorns the label as a tribute to her.
Appellation: Sonoma County
Vineyard: Various vineyards, all in Sonoma County
Vinification: The fruit is hand-picked then cold-soaked. I gently foot-stomp the fruit of which 40% is whole cluster, the rest is whole berry and de-stemmed. None is crushed. The wine goes through open-top, then 100% Malolactic fermentation and aged for 12 months in 60% concrete 600 gallon tank, remainder neutral French oak barrels.

90 Wine Enthusiast, Virginie Boone — This combines 37% Syrah, 34% Petite Sirah and 29% Zinfandel, fermented and aged in concrete and neutral oak. Dense layers of baked plum and sweet bacon accent a soft, simple core of concentration specked in iron and leather.
