This is our second year getting fruit from this very special old vine Zinfandel vineyard, planted in the 1890’s. We are the only winery to make wine from this gem of a site, located right on the edge of Dry Creek County.
An incredibly vibrant dark cherry red color, with aromatics that once again remind me of the wines from the Southern Rhône. Beginning with savory notes of sage and rosemary, followed by cherry kirsch and Pain grillé. On the palate this wine is so generous and giving, maybe lush is a better description, either way, this wine is medium-full bodied, but coats the palate from beginning to an incredibly long finish. Focused on black fruits, wild herbs, sweet creamy notes and just a hint of Cassis. A true expression of site, which has finesse, elegance, and pureness.
