A vibrant medium gold in color, with explosive aromatics of dried peaches, ripe apricots, and tangerines (like Cuties) and just a kiss of creamy vanilla. A totally off-the-charts front palate that carries through to an absolutely stunning mid-palate and long finish, whose flavors are a total reflection of its aromas. What’s mind blowing about this wine is the balance between sweetness, (which it has in abundance), and how vibrant it is. This late harvest wine is for the now, but I feel will become more sensual over the next 5 - 10 years.
The blend: 100% Viognier; 64 cases produced. Low alcohol at 11% and packaged in a 375 mL bottle. In the Cohn Zone: drink now - 2033.

Once again, an opportunity came my way. A couple of other winemakers asked if I would like to collaborate to make a late harvest viognier. I am a lover of late harvest wines and this offer was too tempting to not be part of.
This wine is a true pleasure bomb. From the most exotic aromatics to the luxurious texture on the palate. For me, life is too short to not enjoy a great dessert wine.
I started Jeff Cohn Cellars with the help of my mother, Iris. One adorns the label as a tribute to her.
Appellation: Alexander Valley
Vineyard: Robert Young Vineyard
These vineyards, located in the heart of Alexander Valley have been farmed since1858. Six generations have worked their gravelly, loamy soils.
Vinification: 100% Viognier, Late Harvest
The fruit is hand-picked then cold-soaked. I gently foot-stomp the fruit of which 100% is whole cluster, the rest is whole berry and de-stemmed. None is crushed. The wine goes through open-top, then 100% Malolactic fermentation and aged 11 months in 50% new French oak barrels.

93 Jeb Dunnuck, Audrey Frick — Sold in a 375-ml size bottle, the 2022 Viognier Trials & Tribulations is a late harvest dessert wine made from entirely Viognier. Revealing a nice spice to balance its confected aromas of orange marmalade, dried apricot, and white pepper, it’s medium-bodied on the palate and fully sweet but not cloying. It has all the components of fantastic Moscato, but amplified and obviously a still wine. It’s drinking beautifully now, but don’t be in a rush to crack into. Drink 2025-2045.
